Web-Based DICOM Viewer Provides Anywhere, Anytime Viewing

Raleigh, NC—From a Web-based viewer to advanced mammography features and full PET/CT functionality, Viztek debuts a host of features at RSNA 2011 that keep its Opal-RAD PACS in the forefront of technology.

New in Opal-RAD PACS is anytime, anywhere image viewing on any PC or Apple computer with Viztek’s new Web-based DICOM viewer.  With no software download and a full-range of features, the new image viewer provides the ultimate in convenient, flexible image access.  It boasts an easy-to-use graphic interface, is accessible over any Internet connection and provides full support for most popular Internet browsers.

Opal-RAD PACS expands support for PET/CT viewing with a full range of features including MPR and rotational MIP, triangulation display, series synchronization and 3D point location.

Viztek’s Opal-RAD PACS has also added a Turn-Around-Time (TAT) feature, designed to streamline the workflow of teleradiology practices by prioritizing exams based on a client’s contracted reading time. The feature uses a color-based system to notify radiologists of the remaining time before a scheduled reading must be completed.  After users input timing parameters for each facility, worklists are populated and prioritized automatically.

In the specialty image arena, enhanced new mammography features include Viztek Comprehensive Priors Logic, which enables users to easily toggle through multiple levels of mammography priors in sequential order for an easy look at a patient’s full history.

Complementing this is a new Cardiology Clinic Module that enables viewing of dynamic ultrasound video clips and provides automatic access to cardiac measurements.  The application also supports integrated report generation, including object-oriented structured reporting for a full range of cardiology functionalities.

Patient-Level Document Scanning is another important new feature providing a full range of benefits across all modalities. Using this innovative feature, documents can be scanned from any location and uploaded to Opal-RAD PACS. Frequently scanned documents include patient history forms, exam order forms and more.  This feature associates documents with the appropriate patient file, eliminating time-consuming faxing and tracking of paperwork.
