Raleigh, NC – Park Avenue Family Practice of Yonkers, NY, has selected Viztek, the single-source digital imaging solution company, to provide its advanced Viztek U-Arm digital radiography (DR) system to support increased x-ray imaging volume. Historically, the busy facility has performed a high volume of between 40 and 50 x-ray exams daily. During the past twelve months, this volume grew considerably, leading to the recent Viztek purchase. Prior to the DR installation, the imaging site was using a Viztek computed radiography (CR) system, connected to a Viztek Opal-RAD PACS.
For the transition to DR, the t x-ray room was completely upgraded with Viztek’s compact U-Arm solution. The new system fits easily and conveniently into a standard radiology room with eight foot ceilings.
With the transition to DR, the facility will be capable of handling a significantly higher volume of x-ray exams than with its CR system. Dr. James Sayegh, Park Avenue Family Care owner explains, “We are extremely pleased to have seen such significant growth in our business over the past year to be able to upgrade from Viztek’s CR to DR. Since the DR was installed, it’s been quite clear that the U-Arm is far better capable of handling our continuously growing volume.”
In addition to x-ray, the growing facility has a 16 slice CT connected by Viztek’s Opal-RAD PACS. It allows for full Web-based connectivity, as well as safe and easy access to patient files and exams throughout the practice and remotely. Park Avenue also provides imaging services for a neighboring orthopedic surgical center, which contributes to its increased patient volume.
