New platform to provide one-stop-shop for full EHR functionality – from any platform – streamline patient order to result reporting
Raleigh, NC (RSNA Hall B/North: 8117) – Viztek, the leading provider of complete digital software and hardware diagnostic imaging solutions, will debut a new, modular solution that combats EHR interface challenges for smoother radiology workflow, at the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) 99th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting, Dec. 1-6 in Chicago. Amidst heavy and costly demands of regulations regarding interface requirements for Meaningful Use, Viztek debuts a solution for radiology service providers to eliminate referral process stopgaps.
“The Radiology market and its referring physicians have needed a seamless method for smooth exam scheduling and data review for too long, and we’re excited to bring this potential to the market through the EHR for the benefit of both patients and physicians,” said Josip Cermin, President of Viztek. “We plan to be an EHR vendor that stays in the market through meaningful use stage 4 and beyond.”
Via this new platform, Viztek will provide the first platform-agnostic EHR solution – compatible with MAC, Android, Windows and more – that fully functions at the browser-based level regardless of the operating system or device used. The company is sole-source providing the EHR through its established expertise in PACS, practice management, billing, order entry, radiology reports, patient portals and other software products that they currently deliver. The platform will enable all Radiology Software components to seamlessly work together and in a truly web-based architecture so that there is full functionality of each component, something that is needed by referrers but not yet widely available.
“Referrers simply want exams and results executed in a timely, efficient manner. Current vendor offerings produce process gaps, such as incomplete sign-offs, due to interface difficulties,” explained Steve Deaton, Vice President, Viztek. “Viztek has gone the extra step to assure 100 percent full-feature functionality.”
Viztek has leveraged its extensive expertise to create a web portal, which makes the right tools accessible to the right people through the entire imaging exam process from scheduling to final report. Turnaround time is improved and the process has become much more efficient than current manual, piecemeal methods. “We have really focused on the interaction between the imaging providers and outside clinics, which has streamlined and refined care,” said Deaton. “Improved communication translates to improved results. This translates to an increase in efficiency and more satisfied referring physicians.”
Browser-based and fully functional on all platforms, direct access to key imaging and EHR data will be possible through this platform that revolutionizes the referral relationship. Forms do not need to be scanned, signatures do not need follow-ups, and faxing or personally delivering important items will no longer be needed. The platform enables widespread communication between radiology providers and surrounding clinics via direct EHR portals or integration with their existing PACS Software.
