Supporting the market need

The largest dedicated breast imaging conference in the world, a partnership of the Society of Breast Imaging and American College of Radiology, the Breast Imaging Symposium focuses on the latest breast imaging technology, research and development. This includes DBT, which now is even more prevalent since a second manufacturer received FDA approval. Hospital and imaging centers not only have greater choice in the acquisition of the three-dimensional imaging technology, but they also now have improved cost justification. As of January 2015, the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) included payment codes for DBT, which has been shown to boast high image quality and low dose.
