Steve Deaton joins other industry leaders to share insights and solutions for DBT adoption and interoperability
What: While a relatively new modality, Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) has shown excellent performance as a modality but still poses challenges to existing departmental, enterprise, cross-enterprise image storage, distribution and viewing infrastructures. During the 2013 SIIM (Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine) conference in Dallas, Texas, the educational forum, “ Digital Breast Tomosynthesis & the Informatics Infra-Structure: How Digital Breast Tomosynthesis Kills Your PACS/VNA,” will address some of the most critical challenges posed by DBT.
For healthcare facilities to derive the most clinical value from their investment in new modalities, the end-to-end solution from patient registration to archiving must be considered and must all work together,” said Steve Deaton, vice president, Viztek. “Everyone has insight into the process, and we commend SIIM for bringing together the imaging community, including vendors, professional organizations and their members, and regulatory agencies, to address this issue.”
Who: Steve Deaton, vice president, Viztek, a leading provider of complete digital software and hardware diagnostic imaging solutions, will participate in the panel discussion. Deaton brings 12 years’ experience in radiology and software development. At Viztek, Deaton helped bring to market what is currently, the only PACS to provide viewing for DBT imaging, providing the imaging community with a choice of viewing workstations.
Also participating in this conversation are panel co-chairs, David A. Clunie, MBBS, CoreLab Partners and Margarita L. Zuley, MD, Magee-Womens Hospital of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). Other panelists will include industry experts made up of early adopters, clinicians and vendors.
Where: Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, Ballroom C, Grapevine-Dallas, TX
When: Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 5:15 – 7: 15 p.m. CST
