WAYNE, NJ–(Jun 7, 2016) – At the radiological congress, JPR’2016 in São Paulo, Brazil, Konica Minolta Medical Imaging (KMMI) launched its latest SONIMAGE HS1 ultrasound system. To support the launch, KMMI held an exciting event to showcase the system’s image quality, streamlined workflow and new cardiac functionality for the point-of-care ultrasound market. Visitors to the event witnessed first-hand the SONIMAGE HS1 ability to deliver the performance of a high-end ultrasound unit in a hand-carried system making it an ideal point-of-care solution for rapid and confident evaluations at the bedside and in the exam room.
Guest of honor at the launch was Terezinha Guilhermina, a renowned Paralympic athelete and the fastest visually impaired woman in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records. Guilhermina is a tri-champion Paralympic, eight-time world champion and nine-time Parapan American champion. Additionally, she holds the world record in all competitions in running, 100m, 200m and 400m dash. Guilhermina and her team, including her physiotherapist, were on hand to meet with the KMMI team to learn about the solutions benefits when screening for sports injuries. SONIMAGE HS1 provides physicians with the ability to diagnose patients at the bedside to provide the highest level of care. Terezinha Guilhermina and hundreds of Olympic athletes are preparing for the summer games in Rio de Janeiro, August 5-21 as well as the Paralympics September 7-18.
