April 28, 2011—Raleigh, NC—Viztek, the digital radiology solution provider, is announcing IT independence for its Opal-RAD and ORTHO PACS solutions. Changes include support for virtual PACS deployments, unlimited concurrent viewers, and data replication to a data center.
With the increased demand for more viewing workstations throughout any given facility’s exam rooms and the notable growth in the use of tablets and iPads, the need for unlimited access to the PACS has grown significantly. Additionally, the emphasis on any time anywhere reading has led to an influx of off-site reading furthering the benefits of unlimited web licenses.
Viztek Vice President of Sales, Steve Deaton, explains, “We are seeing a trend in the orthopedic and general radiology markets: customers want more concurrent access to our PACS. The markets’ needs are dictating this change and Viztek is happy to comply with the evolving requests.” Deaton adds, “PCs are progressively more available and affordable today than ever before. With Viztek’s new unlimited web platform, customers no longer have to worry about additional licensing costs when reconsidering additional workstations. Physicians are free to explore new hardware options without PACS worries.”
