Viztek Enters Mammography Arena with Robust Solution at RSNA 2007

Viztek, the Jacksonville-based medical imaging solutions provider, debuts at the Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) a comprehensive, best-of-breed mammography solution designed to meet a full range of imaging needs, from digital and analog acquisition to computer aided detection (CAD).

Partnering with Cintec  (Haifa, Israel) as its exclusive global distributor, Viztek offers Cintec mammography acquisition systems, complete with a full range of accessories and optional digital stereotactic biopsy capabilities.  The fully computer-controlled Cintec systems feature a unique master exposure control feature, combining automatic selection of detector, filter and imaging technique for each patient’s specific procedure, eliminating the guesswork in selecting acquisition parameters.  The result, according to J. Roger Davis, Viztek CEO, is higher quality images, fewer retakes and less patient radiation exposure.

Cintec devices also feature dual focal spot and rotating bi-angular node to enable high-quality image magnification of up to 17 times without motion artifacts.  The state-of-the-art digital image-guided biopsy system provides image enhancement, data manipulation and on-line data storage for high image quality and acquisition efficiency. 

According to Davis, the Cintec devices provide mammography sites with high-quality affordable options for analog mammography acquisition, complemented by state-of-the-art digital biopsies. 

Viztek also  offers  advanced digital mammography solutions from  Carestream Health, Inc., Viztek will showcase the digital capabilities of the KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR 850 and CR 975 Systems as well as the new KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Mammography Feature, which is available in countries where approved for use.  Viztek will also demonstrate the  KODAK Mammography CAD system  with enhanced algorithms to provide advanced scanning of mammography images to flag regions of interest that warrant a second look.

Viztek’s booth also will feature CARESTREAM PACS Mammography Solutions, including a dedicated mammography workstation and which can print to a KODAK DRYVIEW Laser Imaging System with a mammography upgrade for exceptional image quality and flexibility in mammography printing.
