Viztek Achieves More than 900 DR Sales in 2012

Strong Revenues Propel Growth into Coming Year

Raleigh, January 7, 2013 – Viztek, the leading radiology solution provider, announces major milestones in product sales achieved across multiple categories during 2012, positioning the company for even stronger revenues in the coming year. In 2012, Viztek sold more than 900 Digital Radiography (DR) panels, including more than 150 complete DR rooms.

Viztek also recorded 20% growth for software sales including RIS, PACS and its newly introduced completely Meaningful Use-Certified EHR. PACS sales highlights during 2012 include Viztek’s Orthopedic-specific Opal-ORTHO PACS as well as the heightened popularity of Opal-RAD PACS in the teleradiology space.

With the release of the new Opal-CR II in January of 2012, Viztek notched sales of 300 units for the year. With its exceptionally small footprint, wall-mounting capabilities, and economical price point, the CR has been received extremely well, even with smaller sites only performing several x-rays daily.

This enables both hospitals and medical clinics across all specialties to convert to high quality software and digital x-ray acquisition or to upgrade from CR technology to the advantages of DR.”

Viztek DR provides industry-leading flat-panel technology with an extremely fast exposure to image display time.

Catering to a full range of imaging needs, Viztek offers its advanced panels in both single and dual detector configurations as well as with 14×17, 17×17, Cesium, GOS, wireless, and tethered options. Packages come as either a complete integrated digital system or retrofit solution to upgrade an existing room.

“Viztek’s integrated U-Arm system delivers enhanced visualization of soft tissue and bones from a single study exposure, while providing a full range of exams with optimal flexibility,” according to Deaton. However positioned, the U-Arm supports patient imaging from standing, seated and prone positions. It maintains consistent alignment between the x-ray tube and image receptor to ensure high quality images. User-friendly controls support dual speed motorized U-Arm adjustment, while an advanced anti-collision system ensures quick, easy, and safe patient positioning. The unit’s integrated generator console and workstation improves productivity and decreases the chance of operator error.

Like the U-Arm, the Straight-Arm unit is optimized for a full range of chest imaging, while providing similar high-quality images, user friendly operation and reliable, consistent performance.
